Chainsaw and Arboricultural Training Courses
- by industry professionals for industry professionals

We offer the full range of the new QCF approved LANTRA Awards chainsaw courses, leading if required to NPTC or LANTRA professional level assessment.  We also provide the latest refresher training and update courses to meet FISA and industry guidelines for professional users.

You can use your own saw and PPE (subject to meeting requirements) or else hire one of our Husqvarna professional quality saws and PPE.  Training is delivered by our fully qualified and experienced instructors who are industry professionals - doing the job daily.  Courses can be run at our purpose built training centre near Glasgow in the west of Scotland or at other locations in the UK where suitable woodland can be accessed.

Cross Cutting and Maintenance

This is the initial 2 day maintenance, safety awareness and basic cutting course that is required before going on to any further training.

This can be LANTRA or NPTC certified as either an integrated training and assessment or commercial licence to operate. (CS30)

Felling small trees:

3 days of felling following on from the initial cross cut and maintenance.  Users will fell trees up to guide bar length (max 15”) using a variety of techniques.

This can be a LANTRA training and certification or NPTC  (CS31)

Felling Large Trees

Felling of trees over guide bar length.  (CS32)

A small tree felling ticket is required before attendance on this course.

LANTRA or NPTC QCF assessment both available. 2 days

You might like to know……

A chainsaw is possibly one of the most dangerous tools you could use. It has an unguarded blade running at high speed.

Training is essential in order to learn safe operating techniques. In the workplace training is a legal requirement under the Provision and Use of Workplace Equipment Regulations. At home it just makes good sense to know what you are doing.

Our professional training teams run regular chainsaw and arboricultural courses throughout Scotland, England and Wales suitable for both professional and home users.

FISA Training

Instead of a refresher course, why not upgrade your skills?

An upgrade course such as gaining a large trees or windblow qualification from us will give you full FISA compliance.

So why not pay to learn something new rather than what you already know!
